They make learning fun and easy if you put in the effort to learn
Today, Aug 18th 2016 I called Simonsdale Elementary and spoke with a very pleasant woman named Tricia Powers who provided me with all the information I needed in order to enroll my son for the upcoming school year as I am a new resident in the area. Once I was informed of all the information I needed I informed her that I would be right over to fill out the necessary paperwork for my son's records to be sent over from his previous school. Once I arrived at the school I was greeted by Krystal Johnson. I informed Krystal Johnson of the reason as to why I was there and she informed me that I would not be able to have the consent form sent with out all the information needed to register. Now of course I questioned her about this because I was just told otherwise and some of the information needed to register my son would be coming from the old school records. She pursued to tell me that she could not send the consent form to the previous school until I asked her why I was told otherwise over the phone just a few minutes prior to my arrival. She then told me she would go ahead and send the consent form but she would not take any other information I had brought with me. She also stated that the online registration form that I printed from the school website was not acceptable because it needed to be front and back. I asked her for the correct one and told her I would fill it out. I then began to fill out the consent form with all the information needed for it to be sent and had a question about one section as to what I was supposed to write in that space. She ignored me (the only person in the room) so I then said excuse me Mrs. and proceeded to ask my question again. Instead of just answering my question she then pointed to her name plate and state " My name is right there". I then asked her for the third time where she then came to the counter area and told me all I needed to do was sign and date the form. Of course at this time I was extremely agitated with her rude demeanor that I made the comment " Well I guess I did your job for you". She then asked me did I want help or not and I replied "Yes I do, but you have a terrible attitude and if you don't like your job I suggest you find another one." She then said " Excuse me?" and I repeated myself. She then slid the consent form back over to me and proceeded to walk away. I then asked for her manager whom she called out and that is when Mrs. Tricia Powers greeted me. Mrs. Powers was very professional and asked me how she could help me. I explained to her everything that I have put in this review and how rudely I was treated and she apologized for Krystal Johnson's actions. She then proceeded to help me with everything I needed and also took his shot records, birth certificate, custody paperwork, last report card and the registration form that I printed from the website and said that was perfectly fine. She ensured me that she would be handling the paperwork for me and that I could follow up with her if I needed anything else. I am writing this review simply because I do not feel a person with such terrible people skills and rude demeanor should be dealing with parents. It does not leave a good feeling in me knowing that a facility would trust such a person to deal with the parents much less the children in attendance of Simonsdale Elementary. I give no stars for my experience with Krystal Johnson but give 5 for Tricia Powers willingness to help. Unfortunately I had to rate so overall my experience was a 1.
