Excellent hotel. Very clean room. Stayed in room 1714 and beautiful views of sunset and sunrise over navy ships. Great breakfast buffet.
A beautiful and historic hotel! The staff were friendly, professional, and courteous. The rooms were comfortable and stylish. I loved the proximity to local restaurants, ferry, and to Virginia Beach. A must stay! As always, Marriott hotels are the best!
As all Marriott properties this place was impeccable and we loved the riverfront location. The kids loved the river view watching big and small boats as they cruised. They could have spent hours watching; so next time we'll get a balcony or riverfront suite. Can't say much about the surrounding area because there is nothing that is really "walkable" in the true sense of the word, especially at night with family, children and a baby. If you're on your own or with grown kids, different story. We enjoyed the kid's museum where we spent half a day. The service at the hotel was great including room service that was quick and the food was hot we will certainly choose this hotel when were in the area again.
Only problem I had was the coffee machine was missing a part and the ice machine was down on my floor. But that was quickly rectified once I called the front desk. Not only did they being a new machine, they brought more coffee and condiments then went to get me a full bucket of ice. Very nice, great service, good size and clean room, beautiful huge lobby. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
The staff is very friendly but the hotel is pretty dated and in need of repairs. It definitely feels more like a Comfort Inn than a Marriott. Good location!
